Welcome all!
Okinawan GoJu-Ryu Karate DoJo of Mason City, Iowa, is a shibu dojo of the Okinawan GoJu Ryu Kenkyukai of Okinawa, Japan, open since 1995.
Owner Brian Loterbauer started training with Sensei Sonny Onoo in 1978. He also trained with Sensei Chuck Merriman for many years. Through Merriman Sensei, he was introduced to Miyazato Sensei of the Jundokan in 1999 and became the Shibu Dojo for Iowa for the Jundokan. He later left the Jundokan after being a member for many years to follow Taira Masaji Sensei and his organization, the Okinawan Go-Ju Ryu Kenkyukai.

Students learn new skills
Our dojo is located near downtown Mason City, offering a clean, comfortable, welcoming environment for students of all ages and abilities. We will develop and discipline the human spirit and body in our dojo.
Classes are offered throughout the week:
Monday:
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM kids and adults purple belt and under
6:30 PM to 7:45 PM adults brown and black belts
Thursday:
5:30 PM to 6:30 PM kids and adults purple belts and under
6:30 PM to 7:45 PM adults brown and black belts
Thursdays, 4 PM to 8 PM
Friday:
Grading days and special classes
Saturday:
7:00 AM to 8:30 AM all adults Greenbelt and higher
1st and 3rd Friday of every month 6:15 AM to 7:30 AM all ranks
